Now for this month’s tip:

For this month’s tip I’ll explain a few more small gadgets which are very helpful.

1-Snoot for flash:

We all know how snoot works in our studio. But what if we can use the same creativity with our flash everywhere? There’s some portable snoot available for flash. I did a little research and found this one. I tried it out and it works just fine.

Here’s a link to see the different effects for using this snoot on flash:

And if you want to make one yourself, here are some links:

2-Custom white balance tools:

Although I shoot only RAW format, I’ve found that custom white balance makes a big difference in my image quality, especially in mixed and other tricky lighting situations.
We know how to use Gray card to set a custom white balance. Precise custom white balance can also be achieved using products such as Expodisk®.  But here is a cool one! . . . A lens cap that can be used to set manual white balance! Here’s the link.

3-Spring clamp with cold shoe for flash:

This is another great tool for flash!
It clamps onto bars up to Ø 40mm. Supplied with a position able miniature ball head with a flash shoe attachment, allows you to clip and position a flash unit wherever it is needed. Give it a try! You will be surprised how handy this little clamp is. You can virtually set your slave flash anywhere that you want.
Learn more about it here.

That’s all for this month.
Please remember your feedback is always welcome.  If you have questions, comments, topic suggestions or want to share your ideas and experiences with us…send us an email!  We love hearing from you.
